2010-10-29 Harsco Infrastructure West Indies Limited were proud to become a STOW Certified company

Harsco Infrastructure West Indies Limited were proud to become a STOW Certified company in October 2010, only the second company in Trinidad and Tobago at the time to receive this achievement.

Safe TO Work (STOW) is an HSE certification scheme to prequalify contractors for work in the energy sector.  It is a joint effort of the Energy Chamber, the Association of Upstream Operators of Trinidad and Tobago (AUOTT) and the Point Lisas Energy Association (PLEA).

Jose Oseguera, General Manager of Harsco Infrastructure West Indies Limited accepted the certificate from Dr. Thackwray Driver, CEO of The Energy Chamber and Chairman of the STOW Implementation Board.

Jose commented “STOW is a complete package. The certification process is strictly managed and deals not only with a HSE Management system, but with ongoing reviews, training and reporting.  STOW was quite a journey for us.  Getting certified required a lot of hard work, covering very stringent requirements.

“This is a great success for our local operation, which could only have been accomplished with the hard work of our local team and the continuous support of our safety team.  This achievement, however, is only the beginning in our journey towards continuous improvement in HSSE and the team are committed and determined to maintain the impetus.”
